This session will explore how we can create more inclusive and supportive communities through the way we interact with individuals of diverse abilities. Participants will gain awareness, practical tools, and confidence in communicating and engaging respectfully in everyday situations – whether out in community programs, work, public spaces and everyday living.
By the end of this program, participants will be able to understand the principles of inclusive and respectful communication. Learn how to recognize and support individual strengths and needs. Gain strategies to interact effectively in workplaces and in the community settings. Build confidence in offering support while encouraging independence. Foster a mindset that celebrates diversity and belonging.

The Nevada Recreation & Park Society's LEAD Institute is an annual leadership development program for early, mid-career and seasoned professionals. This three-year program will enhance individual organizational leadership skills, specifically addressing leadership styles, philosophies, and competencies. In addition, the program explores and introduces emerging approaches of integrating leadership development and personal growth. The course is designed to provide participatory and collaborative leadership and allows participants to learn from instructors and their fellow classmates. The intent is to prepare leaders with essential skills that will better prepare them for future challenges that requires strategic thinking, collaboration, systems thinking, and leading change. Participants accepted into the LEAD Institute, must commit to all trainings, mentoring obligations, etc. for the entire training year.
